Union Minister and Karnal MP Manohar Lal Khattar has characterized the ongoing farmers' protests at Shambhu and Khanauri borders as primarily Punjab's issue, stating that Haryana faces no such problems. Speaking at the Karn Kamal office in Karnal, he emphasized that despite the Supreme Court's directives and formation of a committee, farmers have not responded to multiple dialogue offers.

Centre's Dialogue Attempts

Khattar stated that the Central Government has made multiple attempts to initiate dialogue with the farmers. He highlighted that a committee was formed following Supreme Court directions and additional meeting offers were extended in Panchkula. Union Minister also emphasised that resolution can only come through mutual discussion

Political Distancing

Khattar maintained clear distance from Congress party matters when questioned about Kuldeep Sharma's letter to Congress high command. Khattar tried to stay away on commenting regarding internal Congress conflicts and issues regarding rebel councilors.

He emphasized his non-involvement in Congress affairs, stating he is neither a Congress office-bearer nor worker, and directed such queries to Congress leaders themselves. Regarding rebel councilors, he maintained that it was an internal party matter that would be handled accordingly.
