What began as a straightforward assault case involving former BJP Haryana President OP Dhankhar's son has evolved into a complex legal battle. The case stems from an incident in Chandigarh's Sector 14 where Ashutosh Dhankhar, son of former BJP Haryana President OP Dhankhar, was allegedly attacked. Police initially reported that the accused had assaulted Ashutosh, reportedly causing injuries including a nasal fracture.

The three accused - Amandeep Singh, Bhawneet, and Rishabh Dutt - appeared before ACGM Rekha's court, where their legal team presented a different series of events.

The defense lawyers made serious allegations about politically motivated arrests and incorrect charges on thier clients. They specifically challenged the medical report claiming Ashutosh's broken nose, leading the judge to seek immediate medical opinion verification from the hospital authorities.

Judicial Intervention

ACGM Rekha directed SHO Sector 14 Hitender to obtain a fresh medical opinion on the injuries incurred by Ashutosh. However, due to the unavailability of the doctor and after an hour's wait, the court ordered the three accused to be remanded to Ambala jail while the investigation continues.

High-Profile Investigation

The case has attracted significant political attention across the state, with former Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta visiting the Dhankhar residence following the incident. Police investigators have recorded detailed statements from Ashutosh Dhankhar while maintaining increased security in the area.
