Haryana Digitizes 710 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies to Eliminate Corruption

Haryana's Chief Secretary Dr. Vivek Joshi announced the successful computerization of 710 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) across the state. At the third meeting of State Cooperative Development Societies (SCDS), Dr.Joshi emphasized that the digital transformation would improve efficiency as well as serve as a powerful tool against corruption. 

Expanding Services Beyond Traditional Banking 

The initiative to modernize the Agriculture Credit Societies goes beyond mere computerization. The state has adopted new model by-laws for all PACS to enhance their viability and diversify activities. Currently, 202 PACS have already begun offering Common Service Center (CSC) services, while four PACS - Bas, Matlauda, Narnaund, and Hathira - have started operating Jan Aushadhi Kendras for affordable medicine distribution. Additionally, 742 PACS have been transformed into Prime Minister Kisan Samriddhi Kendras.

National Integration and Export Promotion 

About 420 state's cooperative societies have gained membership in the National Cooperative Export Limited, while 347 societies have joined the National Cooperative Organic Limited joining national initiatives at an impressive pace. Furthermore, 499 societies have become members of the Indian Seeds Cooperative Society Limited, forming a comprehensive network for seed production and distribution under a unified brand.

Future Initiatives and Governance 

The state has formed a three memeber committee to address housing cooperative society members' grievances, demonstrating government 's commitment to resolve issues at grassroot level. Training programs are being implemented to ensure smooth transition to the digital framework, with special emphasis on staff capability building.
