Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has raised serious concerns about the growing trend of illegal migration among Haryana's youth. Speaking at a district-level youth festival in Kurukshetra, he specifically warned against what's commonly known as the "donkey route" - dangerous illegal pathways that smugglers use to transport people abroad. The CM emphasized that these illegal routes not only drain families of their savings but also put young lives at risk.
Government's Push for Legal Migration and Employment
The state government has established proper channels for those seeking opportunities abroad, the Chief Minister explained. "We are providing legal routes with secured job offers before departure," said Saini. He highlighted how the current administration has transformed the old system where young people had to seek favors from local influential figures for employment opportunities. The new merit-based system ensures fairness and dignity in job allocation.
Youth Development and Achievement Recognition
The festival, held at Kala Kriti Bhawan, showcased Haryana's commitment to youth development. Saini visited the accompanying science fair and distributed awards to festival winners. He praised Haryana's youth for their outstanding performances in national examinations like CBSE, NEET, and JEE, as well as their achievements in international sports competitions.
Vision 2030: Creating a Skilled Workforce
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister outlined an ambitious vision for 2030. The government is developing a comprehensive ecosystem to support youth in various sectors, including education, skill development, self-employment, and overseas opportunities. "Our goal is to ensure every young person in Haryana becomes skilled and financially independent by 2030," Saini declared.
The event concluded with a meeting focused on preparations for International Gita Mahotsav-2024, where the CM emphasized the importance of community participation in such cultural initiatives.
