In a distressing incident from Uklana village in Hisar district, Haryana, a man, unable to meet his loan installments, abandoned his family, leaving them to endure nights without shelter.

The family, consisting of elderly parents and four children, found themselves without a roof over their heads after the bank sealed their house, locking them out. The elderly couple, burdened with the consequences of their son's actions, spent four nights in the open during freezing winter conditions.

The man deserted his home, while his wife returned to her hometown. On Monday, concerned neighbours rallied together, breaking the bank's seal to allow the family back into their home. The Uklana police station in-charge contacted bank officers, addressing the dire situation.

Pratap Singh, the elderly man, accused the bank officials of preventing them from retrieving essential belongings such as clothes, blankets, and utensils. Throughout this ordeal, the family received support from compassionate neighbours who provided them with food. The IDFC First Bank had sealed Pratap Singh and Bimla Devi's house on December 14.
