The Haryana Story brings you an update on the development projects in Ambala Cantonment that are now set to pick up pace following the recent Assembly elections.

The lifting of the model code of conduct has cleared the way for several key projects to move forward rapidly. Ambala Cantonment MLA Anil Vij is leading the charge to accelerate these developments, which had been a major talking point during the election campaign.

Civil Airport Ready for Takeoff

One of the most anticipated projects is the civil airport, or domestic enclave. According to Vij, the facility is ready, with only a scanner left to be installed. "I've asked officials to speed up the process and start flights as soon as possible," Vij told The Tribune. The airport was originally scheduled to launch flights to Ayodhya and Jammu in August, but these plans were delayed due to the election code. The final flight routes are expected to be confirmed soon.

Shaheed Smarak Nearing Completion

Another significant project making progress is the Shaheed Smarak (Martyr's Memorial). Vij, who recently visited the site, expressed satisfaction with the work's progress. He estimates the project will be completed within five to six months.

Other Key Developments

Several other important projects are also set to gain momentum:

  1. Relocation of dairies to Brahmin Majra
  2. Stormwater drainage improvements
  3. Sewerage system upgrades
  4. Construction of a National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) branch in Naggal village

Vij has emphasized that these projects will now move forward "at full speed."

Push for Timely Completion

The MLA recently held a review meeting with the Municipal Council to discuss ongoing projects. He has directed officials to begin work immediately on projects where tenders have been allotted, warning that delays will not be tolerated. "Development works should be completed within the stipulated time frame, and pending road projects must be finished as soon as possible," Vij stated. Addressing Criticism

During the election campaign, the slow pace of these projects had been a significant issue, with many candidates raising concerns about delays. Responding to this criticism, Vij said, "Qutab Minar was not built in a day. New projects take time, but now that the model code of conduct has been lifted, everything will gather pace."

The Haryana Story will continue to monitor the progress of these important developments in Ambala Cantonment. As these projects move forward, they are expected to significantly impact the region's infrastructure and quality of life for residents.
