In a powerful campaign rally at Julana, Haryana, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi made an emotional appeal to voters, strongly backing Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat's candidacy while criticizing the BJP government's policies and treatment of athletes. The rally, attended by MP Deepender Hooda, saw both leaders addressing various issues affecting farmers, athletes, and youth in the state.

Vinesh's Struggle and Political Journey

Vinesh Phogat, speaking at the rally, revealed her emotional journey from sports to politics. "I was completely broken when fighting against the BJP leader. I even thought of leaving the country," she shared. The Olympic wrestler expressed gratitude towards Priyanka Gandhi, whom she likened to Indira Gandhi, for supporting her during the wrestlers' protest at Jantar Mantar.

Criticism of Government Policies

Priyanka Gandhi targeted the BJP government's policies, particularly regarding the Minimum Support Price (MSP). She pointed out that the Haryana government claims to provide MSP for 24 crops, but farmers in the state don't even grow 10 of these crops. "They are fooling the farmers," she stated. She also criticized the Agniveer scheme, arguing it leaves youth unemployed after four years of service.

Congress's Support for Athletes

The Congress leader recounted how Vinesh faced mistreatment during her protest: "When our daughter Vinesh was fighting against injustice, Modi ji's police pulled her hair and dragged her on the streets, but Vinesh didn't give up. She continued her struggle and reached the Olympics."

MP Deepender Hooda emphasized that the BJP government's departure from Haryana is imminent, citing widespread dissatisfaction across the state. He praised Priyanka Gandhi for being the first to stand up for farmers during the Lakhimpur incident and for supporting athletes during their protests in Delhi.

The rally highlighted the Congress party's commitment to addressing various issues facing Haryana, from agricultural concerns to sports development and youth employment.
