"I am a Congressi": Selja Dismisses Talk of Switching Sides

Senior Congress Leader to Launch Campaign for Haryana Assembly Polls in 2-3 Days

Congress leader Kumari Selja

The Haryana Story reports a significant statement from Kumari Selja, a senior Congress leader, who has categorically dismissed speculation about her joining the BJP and reiterated her unwavering commitment to the Congress party.

"I am a Congressi"

Amid reports of discontent within the party over ticket distribution for the Haryana Assembly polls, Selja has unequivocally stated that she is a "Congressi" and that the BJP's attempts to woo her are misguided.

"The BJP is probably more concerned. There are many things that go around within the party," Selja told PTI. "Since I was silent, they (the BJP) started talking, but there is no such thing, they also know it, they were also doing politics, but they know and everyone knows, Selja is a Congressi."

Preparing for the Campaign Trail

Selja, who represents Sirsa in the Lok Sabha, also revealed that she would start her campaign for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections in the next two to three days. This announcement comes after the Congress party's general secretary, Randeep Surjewala, said that Selja would campaign for the party and address a public meeting in Narwana this week.

Unity within the Congress

Selja's comments also addressed the perception of discord within the Congress ranks, as she dismissed such reports and said, "We will sit together to form the government."

The Haryana Story's Take

Selja's unequivocal reaffirmation of her commitment to the Congress party is a significant development in the run-up to the Haryana Assembly elections. Her decision to dismiss the BJP's overtures and focus on the Congress campaign underscores the party's efforts to present a united front and challenge the ruling BJP-JJP alliance.

As the political landscape in Haryana continues to evolve, the Haryana Story will closely monitor the developments and provide comprehensive coverage of the state's electoral battle.
