The Haryana Story brings you the latest political developments from the state as Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed two rallies in Haryana on Tuesday. The high-profile BJP leader made several important statements that could shape the upcoming state elections.

Challenge to Hooda: A Public Debate

In a bold move, Amit Shah threw down the gauntlet to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Speaking at a rally in Faridabad, Shah said, "Hooda sir, you were Chief Minister for 10 years. Come to Faridabad Chowk with your list of achievements. Vipul Goel will be there to debate you." This challenge has set the stage for a potential face-off between the BJP and Congress in Haryana.

BJP's CM Face: Nayab Saini Takes the Lead

Putting an end to speculation, Shah clearly stated that the BJP would contest the upcoming assembly elections under the leadership of Nayab Saini. He pointed out the internal conflicts within the Congress party, saying, "In Haryana, Congress isn't fighting against BJP. There, Hooda is contesting against Kumari Selja. Our claim is clear - we are fighting the assembly elections under Nayab Saini's leadership."

Defending OBC Reservation

Addressing recent controversies, Shah accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of spreading misinformation. He stated, "Rahul Baba is a machine for telling lies. He talked about ending OBC reservation abroad, but I want to say that as long as Modi's BJP government is there, no one can touch reservation." Shah also highlighted that the BJP government had included the Gurjar caste in the OBC category and reduced the creamy layer criteria.

Promises and Achievements

Shah listed several achievements of the BJP government in Haryana:

  1. Ending "goondaism" (hooliganism) in the state
  2. Replacing corruption with fair job recruitments
  3. Implementing One Rank One Pension for military veterans
  4. Promising 20% reservation for Agniveers in government jobs

The Union Minister also emphasized Haryana's contribution to the nation, saying, "Haryana is known for three things - its soldiers, farmers, and athletes. Whenever the country needed them, they have stood up."
