Haryana Congress Launches Hard-Hitting Anthem Against BJP

The Haryana Congress has taken its political battle to the digital arena with the release of a scathing new anthem targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Unveiled on Thursday night via the social media platform X, the two-minute video has quickly gained traction, amassing over 21,000 views and 300 reposts within its first 24 hours online.

The anthem, titled "Jhooti Kasam" (False Oath), is a clever parody of the popular song "Jhooti khayi thee kasam nibhayi nahin" from the film Stree-2. However, the Congress has repurposed the catchy tune with lyrics that directly challenge the BJP's decade-long governance in Haryana.

At its core, the song accuses the BJP of failing to fulfill its promises to the people of Haryana. The lyrics touch on a range of issues that have been contentious points during the BJP's tenure, including allegations of corruption, rising unemployment, the use of force against protesting farmers and guest faculty, inadequate healthcare services, and the alleged mistreatment of women wrestlers.

The visual composition of the video is equally pointed. It features a montage of prominent BJP figures, including current Chief Minister Nayab Saini and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who now serves as a Union Minister. These images are posed with footage of police using lathi-charge (baton charge) during various protests, creating a stark visual contrast between the party's leadership and the unrest on the ground.

Chitra Sarwara, a Congress leader involved in the party's social media strategy, explained the rationale behind the anthem. "The song sums up the mood of the political scenario in the state," Sarwara stated. "Whether you call it a spoof, parody, or anthem, 'Jhooti khayi thee kasam nibhayi nahin' conveys a critical message ahead of the polls."

The release of this anthem is part of a broader, aggressive social media campaign by the Haryana Congress. The party's X handle has been consistently active, sharing video clips of disgruntled BJP leaders who were denied election tickets and highlighting notable defections from the BJP ranks.

One particularly damaging video features Karandev Kamboj, the former chairman of the BJP's OBC cell. In the clip, Kamboj labels Chief Minister Nayab Saini as a "rubber stamp CM" and accuses the party leadership of awarding tickets to individuals he refers to as "gaddar" (traitors).

The timing of this campaign is crucial, coming as it does in the lead-up to the upcoming elections. By leveraging popular culture and social media platforms, the Congress aims to connect with younger voters and amplify its message of BJP's alleged failures.
