Congress Gears Up for Haryana Elections: Kumari Selja Shares Party's Vision

Selja said that for big choices, like picking who will run in the elections or who might become Chief Minister, the final say belongs to the party's "high command."

Congress leader Kumari Selja, who is also a Member of Parliament from Sirsa, recently shared her thoughts on the upcoming Haryana elections. She talked about her party's plans, criticised the current government, and explained how the Congress party makes important decisions.

Selja started by saying that both the Congress party and the people of Haryana are ready for the elections. This shows that the party is confident about its chances in the upcoming vote.

One of the main points Selja made was about how decisions are made in the Congress party. She said that for big choices, like picking who will run in the elections or who might become Chief Minister, the final say belongs to the party's "high command." The high command is the group of top leaders who guide the whole party. This tells us that local leaders don't make these big decisions on their own.

Selja had strong words for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has been ruling Haryana for the last 10 years. She said that the BJP made big promises but didn't do much real work to help people. She also pointed out that BJP leaders in Haryana often disagree with each other publicly, which she thinks is a problem for good governance.

When asked about how the Congress party chooses its candidates for elections, Selja explained that they have a careful process. There's a group called the screening committee that looks closely at all 90 seats in Haryana. They think about many things before deciding who should run for each seat. Selja said that more than 2,500 people have applied to be candidates, which shows that many are interested in running for office with the Congress party.

Some people say that the Congress party takes too long to announce its candidates. But Selja defended this, saying that they take the time they need to make good choices. She believes that even if the announcements come later, they still have enough time to prepare for the elections.

Selja also talked about the future. She said that instead of thinking about the past, the Congress party is focused on what they can do for Haryana in the next 10 years. They want to work on important issues like creating jobs for young people and improving education in the state.

When asked if she wants to be the Chief Minister if Congress wins, Selja was careful with her words. She said that anyone from any background could become Chief Minister, but the final decision would be made by the party's high command.

Selja avoided talking about problems within the Congress party. When asked about conflicts between different leaders or groups, she said these were internal matters that would be discussed within the party.

To sum up, Kumari Selja gives us a good look at how the Congress party is preparing for the Haryana elections. They're focusing on criticising the current government's performance, promising to work on issues that matter to people, and relying on their top leaders to make the big decisions. As the election gets closer, it will be interesting to see how these plans and ideas turn into action on the campaign trail.
