The Congress party is exploring the possibility of forming an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the upcoming Haryana elections. Rahul Gandhi, in a recent meeting with state leaders, sought their opinions on the potential partnership. However, Haryana Congress leaders are divided on the issue, with some opposing the alliance.

Haryana Congress Leaders Oppose Alliance

Haryana Congress leaders, including former Chief Minister Bhupender Hooda, are opposed to the alliance. Hooda has stated that the party should contest the elections alone, citing the example of the Lok Sabha elections where the party performed better without an alliance. ''We are not in favor of an alliance. We will contest the elections alone." - Bhupender Hooda, Former Haryana CM. However, Rahul Gandhi is keen on exploring the possibility of an alliance to prevent the division of anti-BJP votes. Rahul Gandhi states "The potential alliance is still uncertain. We are exploring all possibilities."

AAP Demands More Seats

AAP, on the other hand, is demanding more seats than offered by the Congress party. AAP leaders have stated that they will not settle for less than 10 seats, while the Congress party is willing to offer only 3-4 seats. "We are demanding more seats than offered. We will not settle for less than 10 seats." - Sanjay Singh, AAP Leader.

Potential Benefits of Alliance

The potential alliance between Congress and AAP may benefit both parties, as it would prevent the division of anti-BJP votes. However, the alliance is still uncertain, with both parties yet to reach a consensus.
