As Haryana gears up for its highly anticipated 2024 Assembly elections, The Haryana Story brings you the latest update on the state's electoral rolls. In a significant announcement today, Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal revealed that the final publication of voter lists for all 20,629 polling booths across the 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana has been completed.

The most notable aspect of this update is the addition of 63,008 new voters to the electoral rolls, showcasing the growing political engagement in the state. This development is crucial for the upcoming Elections in Haryana, as it reflects the changing demographics and potential shifts in voting patterns. According to Agarwal, the preliminary list published on August 2 included 2,01,61,950 voters. However, the final list, released on August 27, saw some significant changes. A total of 2,35,804 new voters were added, while 1,72,796 voters were removed from the list. These adjustments have resulted in a net increase in the voter base.

The final tally now stands at an impressive 2,02,24,958 voters who will be eligible to exercise their franchise in the Haryana election 2024. This number includes 1,07,11,926 male voters, 95,12,574 female voters, and 458 third-gender voters, representing a diverse electorate.

One of the most encouraging aspects of this update is the significant presence of young voters. Agarwal highlighted that there are 5,01,682 voters in the 18 to 19 age group. This substantial number of first-time voters could play a crucial role in shaping the outcome of the upcoming elections.

For those who may have missed the initial registration process, there's still hope. Agarwal explained that individuals who turned 18 on or before July 1, 2024, but find their names missing from the voter list, can still register. They are advised to contact their local Booth Level Officer (BLO) and fill out the prescribed form to ensure their participation in the democratic process.

Even after the publication of the final voter list on August 27, last-minute additions are possible. Eligible voters can apply to add their names by filling out Form 6 through their BLO or by using the convenient Voter Helpline app. This flexibility ensures that no eligible voter is left out of this crucial democratic exercise.
