“Mhara Modi-Mhara Manohar” in former CM Manohar Lal's Rally of Gannaur

With just 15 days left for the polling day of the Lok sabha elections 2024, Haryana is gearing up in the heat of May to elect the new centralgovernment for the country. BJP is leaving no stone unturned to reach every corner of the state before the 25th of this month. Haryana’s ex-Cm Manohar Lal Khattar keeping the tempo of BJP’s campaign high today, addressed a rally in Sonipat’s Gannaur. Even with the sore throat Manohar Lal was all fired up and appealed to the people of Gannaur to vote for the saffron party, highlighting all the developmental policies of the last 10 years.

Manohar Lal Khattar was in Gannaur to support the candidature of Mohan Lal Badoli, the BJP candidate from the Sonipat Lok Sabha constituency. Notably, the Sonipat seat was one of the biggest surprises in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections where BJP’s Ramesh Chandra Kaushik defeated congress veteran and Haryana’s ex-cm Bhupinder Singh Hooda. While Kaushik had polled 587664 votes in the fight, Bhupinder Singh Hooda missed the winning mark with 422800 votes. Sensing another turnaround the grand old party has fielded Satpal Brahmchari for the 2024 Lok sabha elections against BJP’s Mohan Lal Badoli.

Khattar while addressing the Gannaur crowd said the fight for the 2024 lok sabha election is the fight against Congress. Asking the people to vote for PM Narendra Modi, Khattar reiterated the most often repeated saying related to the bhaichara (brotherhood) in Haryana and said, “People here often say that this candidate is our brother but the other candidate is also our brother, whom should we vote for? The fight for Mahabharata was also between brothers, I understand but Mohan Lal Badoli is Narendra Modi’s brother and the other candidate is Rahul Gandhi’s brother. Looking at Narendra Modi’s development policies in the last 10 years, you should vote for Narendra Modi’s brother”. 

He also asked the party karyakartas to work as Mohan Lal Badoli themselves to ensure the win of Mohan Lal Badoli from the sonipat constituency. He also narrated one old story, when he was campaigning in Karnal in the previous election when party workers ensured him in the meetings to campaign in other parts of the state as the party workers in Karnal worked on the formula of “Main bhi Manohar, Main hi Manohar”. The party karyakartas full of enthusiasm listened to the BJP veteran in the rally.

The team of “The Haryana Story”, also spoke to some BJP workers and people of Gannaur at the rally site who seemed full of energy after Manohar Lal Khattar’s speech and said they are working on the plank of “ Mhara Modi, Mhara Manohar” (Our Modi, Our Manohar). During the conversation with the The Haryana Story team, people praised Manohar Lal Khattar for his supreme sacrifice of leaving the power seat of Chandigarh and passing it on to Nayab Singh Saini. Amidst the ongoing political crisis in the state, sensing the crowd’s mood, it won’t be wrong to say that Manohar Lal Khattar’s Gannaur rally on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti infused the party candidate and workers with fresh energy with his candidness and experience of past.
