As pundits often remark, the realm of politics is a realm of surprises, where the unexpected can swiftly become reality. This sentiment rings especially true in the era dominated by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Hailing from Gujarat, this dynamic duo is renowned for their penchant for making unanticipated and bold decisions that shape the political landscape.

Just three days ago, on the 11th of March, PM Modi graced Haryana's Gurugram to inaugurate the 18.9 km long stretch of Dwarka Expressway. Amidst the ceremonial event, he fondly reminisced about his earlier days with Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar. PM Modi nostalgically recalled how both he and Manohar Lal used to traverse the roads of Haryana on a motorcycle from Rohtak to Gurugram for organizational engagements. He extolled Manohar Lal's tenure as CM, revealing anecdotes of their camaraderie, and emphasizing their enduring bond over the years.

Some speculated that PM Modi's laudatory remarks heralded a continuation of Khattar's leadership in the upcoming state assembly elections. However, the political landscape swiftly shifted barely 24 hours later, as news broke of the CM Manohar Lal resigning and dissolution of the BJP-JJP coalition. Following Khattar's resignation, rumours swirled about his potential reinstatement as CM post-coalition dissolution.

Yet, in a startling turn of events, Nayab Singh Saini, the BJP state president, assumed the mantle of Haryana's Chief Minister in the late hours of March 12th. Upon his swearing-in, Nayab Singh Saini expressed gratitude towards former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, acknowledging his pivotal role in steering Haryana towards progress. The symbolic gesture of Saini touching Khattar's feet, reciprocated with a warm embrace, underscored the continuity and camaraderie within the party.

While the transition of power may have caught many by surprise, the dignified manner in which the outgoing CM relinquished his position underscores the BJP's organizational discipline. In contrast to the internal factionalism plaguing other major parties like the Congress, the BJP's seamless transition of leadership reflects a commitment to stability and continuity. Manohar Lal Khattar's resignation, after nearly a decade at the helm, and his gracious endorsement of Nayab Singh Saini epitomizes the party's ethos of putting the organization above personal ambitions. This, of course, is in addition to the fact that Nayab Singh Saini has been one of the most trusted men of Manohar Lal.

The ensuing change in leadership sets the stage for an intriguing and unpredictable electoral landscape in the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections, with all political players poised to make their mark on the political canvas.
