Breaking New Ground in Democratic Representation
In a significant statement marking the beginning of Haryana's 15th Assembly session, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has outlined a vision for inclusive governance that bridges political divides. Speaking at the Assembly following Speaker Harvinder Kalyan's election, Saini emphasized the government's commitment to accelerating the 'non-stop Haryana' initiative through collaborative efforts.
The Assembly has achieved a historic milestone with 13 women legislators, a 50% increase from the previous Assembly's nine women members. "This enhanced representation of women is not just a statistic, but a matter of pride for our state," remarked CM Saini.
Building on Parliamentary Traditions
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in newly elected Speaker Harvinder Kalyan's abilities, citing his three consecutive terms in the Assembly and extensive experience in parliamentary committees. "His humility, discretion, and distinctive working style will elevate the dignity of the Speaker's post to new heights," Saini stated.
Embracing New Voices While Honoring Experience
With 40 first-time MLAs in the 90-member Assembly, Saini outlined a mentorship approach that balances experience with fresh perspectives. "While new members will learn from veterans' experience, their energy and enthusiasm will inspire seasoned legislators," he explained, emphasizing the importance of giving newcomers ample speaking opportunities.
Following Prime Minister's Collaborative Model
Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's approach in the 17th Lok Sabha, Saini reinforced that governance would not rely solely on numerical strength but on inclusive decision-making. "We aim to move forward by taking everyone into confidence," he affirmed, pledging to evaluate all opposition suggestions that serve public interest.
The Chief Minister's commitment to collaborative governance sets a positive tone for the Assembly's functioning, promising a balanced approach between implementing government initiatives and incorporating constructive opposition input.
