The Haryana government has issued a notification, increasing the remuneration for Anganwadi workers and helpers. Experienced workers with over 10 years of service will now receive ₹14,000, up from the previous ₹12,661. Those with less than 10 years' experience will now get ₹12,500, compared to the earlier ₹11,401, reflecting a raise of ₹1,099. Currently, Haryana employs 23,486 Anganwadi workers and 489 Mini Anganwadi workers, along with 21,732 Anganwadi helpers.

Starting from December 1, 2023, the enhanced remuneration will be applicable. The government's decision to increase wages was announced by the Chief Minister on November 18, 2023, and received approval from the finance department. The order has now been implemented.

Additionally, the government has committed to reinstating the wages deducted during the strike by Anganwadi workers and helpers in 2021-22. The order specifies the restoration of a 25% cut for the period before December 29, 2021, and a 75% cut for the period from December 29, 2021, to April 2022.

The government's move to improve the financial conditions of Anganwadi workers and helpers, along with the commitment to rectify the deductions during the strike, demonstrates its commitment to the welfare of these essential workers. The decision aims to acknowledge and appreciate their significant role in early childhood care and development.
