In a significant move towards economic empowerment of Scheduled Castes in Haryana, the state government has made substantial progress in its financial assistance programs, reports The Haryana Story.
The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (HSFDC) has successfully distributed Rs 368.76 lakh to 436 beneficiaries during the current fiscal year up to September, including Rs 32.01 lakh in direct subsidies.
Breaking down the assistance sector-wise:
1. Agriculture and Allied Sectors: 227 beneficiaries received Rs 181.10 lakh
- Bank loans: Rs 168.62 lakh
- Subsidies: Rs 12.48 lakh
2. Trade and Business Sector: 61 beneficiaries received Rs 58.10 lakh
- Bank loans: Rs 46.52 lakh
- Subsidies: Rs 5.77 lakh
- Margin money: Rs 5.81 lakh
"Our focus is on creating sustainable livelihoods through diverse business opportunities," says the HSFDC spokesperson. "The corporation's schemes cover everything from dairy farming to small business establishments, ensuring comprehensive support for SC community members."
The initiative has particularly benefited those in agricultural activities, with numerous beneficiaries starting dairy farms, sheep rearing units, and pig farming operations. The trade sector has also seen significant uptake, with entrepreneurs establishing various business ventures.
Additionally, the National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation has contributed by providing Rs 17 lakh to 17 beneficiaries, further strengthening the support network.
"These financial assistance programs are designed to be accessible and effective," the spokesperson adds. "We're seeing real change in communities as beneficiaries establish successful businesses and achieve financial independence."
The Haryana Story's analysis reveals that this initiative represents one of the state's most comprehensive efforts to promote entrepreneurship among SC communities, with a clear focus on sustainable development and self-reliance.
